Day 2 - Standard Chartered Marathon (07-12-14)

Okay, instead of updating my blog consecutively for 10 days, I shall just update it with the overdued events every consecutive days. If you're wondering why, it's because it takes a really long time to upload the photos... Which is why for day 2, I've decided to blog about Standard Chattered marathon, which only has 20 photos. LOL. It took me the whole morning to upload this 20 photos.. Okay, to clarify (Or you'll think I'm retarded), I'm uploading the photos from my phone to my blog because I can't seem to transfer the photos from my phone to my mum's office's computer...

Okay, actually 7th December was rather happening because more than half of 1405 (13 out of 25, LOL) went for Standard Chattered marathon as volunteers. It was really a good experience although it left all of us shagged as hell, especially Sebastian since he is our team leader. Lily-chan, Aubrey-sshi and watashi went to the venue together, we took the free bus they provided. Oh, prior to the event, the three of us were eating at a banquet, but I'll leave that for another day.

The free bus came at around 0000? And I think we reached later than the rest of the class since they went from Bishan and we went from Yishun. They have a few pick-up points all over Singapore, namely, Bishan, Yishun, Chua Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong and Tampines. I really liked this, because when we went for the Great Eastern Women's run, we had to get there by ourselves.

Okay, then we were given our volunteer bag, which is a blue colored drawstring bag, as well as our volunteer tee. The volunteer bag was rather cool because it contains some mint sweet, snacks, notebook, plaster etc. I can't really remember the content but it was really cool. Our volunteer tee was a legit Adidas dri-fit tee, the team members' were neon yellow while the team leader - Sebastian's was lime green. But unfortunately so, since he was late, there weren't any size S nor M shirts available, thus he had to take the second last piece remaining, it was an XL sized shirt. Since it's way too huge for him, he wore it over his normal shirt. LUL.

Okay, then something disastrous happened when I was changing my shirt, so I went into my "why am I so dumb"-emo mode. But thankfully, my father came to rescue. It was freaking 1:30am in the morning, with road closures everywhere for the marathon.. Really grateful to have my dad and my mum as my parents. 不是很完美，但是已经不错了。。

Okay, before we moved out to our venue, which was at freaking Sentosa, we took 2 group photos. My awkward standing posture makes me look fat as hell... I really have no idea how to stand/pose in photos, which is why I'll prefer to stand at the back, but I'm also very short, thus it's not easy for me to look nice in group photos...... :( Normu sad.

After that we just sat in a circle to play charades on Jabelle's phone.

Then after awhile, the bus came. It was really nice because we didn't have to share buses with people we don't know.

It was really funny on the bus because the bus drivers kept cursing. Due to the road closures everywhere, we couldn't find our way out of Raffles Place(right?) then he kept driving round in circles. When Sebastian called for help using his cool ass phone (which they provided, but I think it's more like a walkie talkie than an actual phone), they ignored him. LOL. How could they ignore us?!! AND OUR TEAM LEADER?!!?

When we reached the venue, there wasn't a lot to do, so we just set up our tables.

Oh the snacks provided were not bad, Everybody was given 2 muffins, 1 chocolate croissant and 1 custard croissant. There's still oreo, crackers and sweet given in our drawstring bags.

When the marathon started, at around 0630, the craze starts too. Fortunately, we were the first drink station, so the runners weren't exactly very tired, and we only had to pour mineral water for them, no sweet drinks. The first two waves were crazy, we didn't even have time to arrange the cups of water properly.. Oh we were left with many half-bottle bottles of water, and we didn't wanna waste it so we started playing scissors paper stone, the loser will have to drink a cup. I ended up drinking 4 cups and my bladder almost burst... Because the vendor didn't want to take back the opened boxes of paper cups, we took 2 tubes of them paper cups for our class party on the 22nd. HAHAHA. Budget max.

When we returned to Vivo, we had to wait for the organizers to arrive, so that we can sign out and get our CIP forms. After that, we were released, except for Sebastian because he had to return to F1 building to return his "phone" to them. :( Sad. Liting went to help me collect my Tokyo Ghoul poster at Sengkang since it's on her way home. Thanks!! ♡

After I went home, I went to bathe immediately (so clean!!!), then headed out for breakfast with my family. Lul, Sunday morning tradition. /smiles/ I think it's only fun because of the people. Love my 1405 so much! Honestly the best class I've ever been in. Grateful to have them, grateful that I've #SayYesToNYJC-ed :) When confused about which school to go to, choose Nan Yang Junior College, because then, it won't be a wrong choice and you won't regret.
