20/02/2016 - Muah Trip w/ Grandma
Okay so my Popo found out about some Muah (A hipster place in Malaysia) day trip with the Community Center AND she decided to jio me to go with her since I'm the only hobo with no school. This is also my first time going on a trip with my grandma alone!! I mean, obviously we'll go as a fam on other normal days what. LOL.
Had to wake up super early in the morning since we're meeting the other Aunties and Ahpos at 730am? Something along that line, I can't really remember everything very clearly because this happened more than 2 months ago man. I remember meeting her below my block since the meet up location to board the bus was at the block infront of mine. My Gonggong fetched her to my house, aww. I thought that was really sweet because he woke up early specially to see her off. And if you're wondering, he didn't volunteer to go because he really hates such rah-rah nonsense, especially with the bunch of older women. LOLOL.
I BROUGHT MY CAMERA. Since my phone doesn't have data roaming, I just listened to music all the way there. Lol. Muah is really located quite far away from Singapore...
This is us on the way to the checkpoint and my Grandma was just happily playing with her phone. She used to only play candycrush and some ball shooting game but now she's playing more and more games, which is a really good thing! Haha, they should get her an iPhone 6S Plus instead since it can be quite straining for her eyes on that small screen (Although it definitely doesn't feel/look small to me), but then again it'll be quite hard for her to hold it if it's too big... hmmm..... Oh right, there were actually two buses, one of which is supposedly bigger with bigger leg rest area... But of course, 天下是没有免费的午餐的(除非有个男生要追求你,但如果他是。。。。某某人就很难说了), we actually topped up $20 each? I can't remember la. She kept saying she doesn't wanna take a photo bc she doesn't look good but I'm like bruh 你最美.
♥
Basically all that I brought that day + my camera bag. Chia seed!!!!!! Okay, although I may be forgetful, I won't forget my rants. It was on a Saturday morning so the custom was really packed. That's totally understandable and forgivable man but the entire custom was in a huge mess and nobody did anything. Outrageous I swear. I was so mad because there wasn't any distinct queue AT ALL. The metal barricades were extremely misleading because some led us nowhere.. Lol what a joke. What's more they're all elderly and some even started climbing over the barricades to get inside.. That's really dangerous, and also low key unfair to those already in the queue.. I know some of the people in the queue were also pissed at the disorderliness in the queue that day, so they started taking their phones out to take photos, hoping to file a complain I guess? And that's when the custom guards started hauling and squeezing into the queue just to ensure that the uncle deletes the photo. And I swear his tone was extremely intimidating and scary.. I understand that there's this no photography and videography rule at the custom due to security and privacy issues but I think they're mainly trying to safeguard their own interest... Am I allowed to even say this? I don't know, this is purely my own opinion. Then there was this younger bratty girl who got pissed when it was finally her turn to get her passport chopped so she kinda threw her passport down on the counter where the worker was at so the worker completely ignored her and I guess kinda told her that he doesn't wish to serve her and skipped her turn. Her mother stepped in to apologize and all I guess but he didn't really bothered and started serving other tourists at the customs and I was just standing there watching and thinking "woah no chill bruh, I better not be rude." but if you're wondering, the mother and rude daughter eventually got served at another counter uh. This really made me appreciate Singapore's system a lot a lot more. The whole, scan your own passport and fingerprint system is really fast, efficient and organized. Thankful!! Okay MOVING ON, we then headed to the first place for breakfast. All the way in Muah. Ridiculously late breakfast at 11+am... LOL. Okay so basically these are the food that were provided, they're actually included in the whole package, our three meals I mean. And we were all assigned to one table and there's 9 people in my table (supposed to have 10) so we tend to have a little more food since the food were meant for 10 and the Aunties and Popos always get me to finish them since I'm a "年轻人" LOL. Oh and I told them I wanna take photos before they eat (LOLOL) and well, they're generally okay with it but then there's this grumpy grandma (alliteration right here) that's like "我不管,我饿了,来了我就吃。" while the others were like "aiyo,等一下子,让年轻人拍先。" Awww they're generally really friendly people. Some Dimsum place which is apparently quite well known. Chasoobao!!!!!!!!! Pork ribs. Deep fried prawn wrapped in beancurd skin.
Chee cheong fan with chasoo.
皮蛋瘦肉粥。。 Normal siewmai. And of course, chinese tea.
Wanted to buy some fried dimsum back for my bro but decided against it because it's really way too early then.
I love porridge a lot, when I was younger I can finish like 2 freaking bowls of the huge porridge from 85 Market... lol and when I say "younger", i mean way younger, like in primary school kinda thing. I really eat a lot la. Omg the toilet phenomena game stronk. The Aunties and Ahmas always go to the toilet at every single stop LOL. lol our tourguide... HAHHAHAHAHA DAMN CRINGE WORTHY LA. I really totally won't sign up for group tours no matter how foreign a place is. lol. Low key gross. Typical KTV set.... with typical oldies I don't know LOL. oKAY THIS REMINDED ME OF SOMETHING - The previous time my cousin, bro and I went to (somewhere in M'sia I can't remember where) with both my Grandparents and there was this exact shit and, as a young and crazy biitch I was and still am, I started shouting at the old Ahmas singing. LOL WTF the three of us were daMN ass, we were like repeatedly shouting, asking for a chance to sing, a change of song and even shouting lyrics we know. My Grandma was really damn pissed with three of us and swore to never bring us out again LOL. HAHAHHAHA. She's so tired. :( Thank you for taking care of us and cooking dinner for us everyday. hehe Lub. I was trying to take a TIMELAPSE which failed because the scenery looks the same. Okay and the following spam is just me trying to take photos because I was stuck on a moving bus with absolutely nothing to do. Took us quite awhile to get to the second destination, where we went to this temple to pray and then buy some stuffs at the makeshift Aunty-flea outside the market. Wow they were really loud.... The firecraCKERS were nutz. Queuing up for the prayer offerings. uhh, my set taken with overly low temperature for some reason Idk why. So yep, as this was set back in February, I prayed that my Alevel results will turn out well. And well, here's a series of photos of my Popo buying meesua HAHAHAHH - Then we went to another stall to get some ikan bilis and my spinach noodles LOL. Fruit stall which I didn't buy anything from. On-the-go ice cream man on the motorcycle. Err I guess that's about it and then we headed to another restaurant for lunch. This totally reminded me of Sec 3's Pahang camp where the crazy guys in my table ate 2 big bowls of this themselves, but then again, we're wilderness. Casually wondering if this can be considered child labor.. but okay he's cute. Appetizer. Tea which looks like whiskey shots. Herbal chicken!!! Omg I love beancurd skin... Taukey.... Assam fish, which I love a lot too. Honey pork ribs with mashed potato ring. This is kinda cool because this is the first time I've seen a potato ring. LOL. It's usually yam ring isn't it? But I thought the pork ribs were a ....... rib off. HAHAHAHAH. But yeah, felt that the serving was relatively small for 10. Like come on, I can down all them ribs myself. POTATO RING. Oh they gave me the largest piece of pork ribs which... is actually just a huge piece of bone LOL. Braised pork with yam!! 三岑肉很好吃但是很肥。。 Okay some sweet sauce prawn, felt that the prawn is pathetic LOL. Skin tone A1 watermelon. So yup that pretty much sums up my lunch. Ps I think we had lunch at around 2~3pm.. LOL It's insane because our super filling breakfast was at 11~12pm.. We then went to some confectionery shop to buy some coffee and snacks. Queue number cum discount card.
Omg coffee. How much I miss them......
Grandma bought black coffee for me and I bought a lot of center-filled cookies. There were a lot of flavors!! I think I bought Tiramisu, Chocolate, Cappuccino and some others which I cannot remember. They were also selling cheesecake but Charmaine said NO to temptation.
Our next stop was the second, and last, temple of the day, and the trip.
Omg the smell was really good, 茶叶蛋!!! Doesn't taste that good though, the one I had in KL was a lot better.. Omg if I have the time then I'll blog about my KL trip. Afterall, that's my last family trip already, kinda meaningful in that sense I guess? Okay, here's a funny story: I kinda wanted to go to the toilet because I kinda drank a lot of tea at every restaurant, BUT the temple's toilet was very gross so I was like NOPE. Then I boarded the bus and the urge to go to the toilet went up by 10 million times. So I asked my Popo where's the next stop and she's like "Dinner and it's a 3 hours drive" and I'm like :D :-D :^D!!!!!!!!! MY BLADDER ALMOST EXPLODED. I LITERALLY RAN THE HELL DOWN OF THE BUS INTO THE RESTAURANT WHEN THE BUS STOPPED. I RAN. I RAN FOR THE SAKE OF MY BLADDER AND MY LIFE. I RAN. Okay dinner at 7pm. lol omg we literally spend the whole trip eating and sitting in the bus. LOL. Oh yeah, 我是 table 5. Whiskey shots again.. ;)
Oh because it was CNY period, we had louhei!
If you are friends with me on snapchat (add me: CharmaineTwqx), you'd have known how much I LOVE louhei and steamboat. LOL. LOVE LEH.
A not so flattering photo of some really good braised pork knuckles.
Obviously-mock-shark-fins
Tofu.... Tofu.... Tofu........ I LOVE TOFU.......... Assam fish again, I don't even know why LOL. bRO would have tar the whole thing if he's there because he loves cereal prawns. Haish, that fatty has got to watch his diet...which I believe he will now because of somebody. ;) Obviously-canned-longan. HAHAHAHAH JOINED THE AUNTY QUEUE THIS TIME ROUND because we're going back to Singapore already and I really didn't want to spoil my bladder again.. Okay I guess this pretty much summarizes my "road trip" (LOL) with Popo. :) I'm really glad that I was given this chance to spend some quality time with her, being away from all forms of distractions and away from civilization. LOL. I really love her a lot. I'll never forget how I spend every single afternoon after school at her house, having homemade lunch and dinner. Although there were times where Xiao Charmaine from Primary school can be rebellious and will quarrel with her grandma, she really still love and cherish her a lot. Since I went to Secondary school, I stopped having lunch at her place because school started ending later and later. Then when I went to Junior College, I gradually stopped having dinner at her place because there's practically no time for that at all although we stay just 2 blocks away. Maybe it's just an excuse because there's never such thing as impossible nor "no time" but I guess I just had different priorities then. I'm thankful for this long break before University starts, I guess I'll really have to spend more time with both her and Gonggong and really cherish them better. 我只到他们真的很疼我。I've been really busy in March and April because I have to earn enough money for my own basic stuffs in Uni, especially since I wanna go for quite a few camps and stay in hall. But I guess I'll take up fewer jobs or assignments from May onward and spend more time with my loved ones. Yay. Thankful for this family and also all the right people placed in my life. :) |
